It will connect new business opportunities and foster Indian to Indian buying on a new level by elevating business, products and services that were not visible before.
HOW IS THIS DIRECTORY DIFFERENT?
MNIBA recognizes the action of being entrepreneurial applies to someone who is a leader and innovator of new ideas and business processes, who creates value by offering a product or service, by carving out a niche in the market that may not exist currently.
The directory honors, celebrates and promotes the diversity of American Indian entrepreneurial activity in Minnesota. It encompasses all forms of entrepreneurial endeavors from advisors, administrators/organizers, artisans, builders/creators, caretakers, civic, communicators/trainers, educators, entertainment/promoters, healthcare/medical, investor/owners, political, sellers, social, and technology/engineering to tourism.
The listing is free and only American Indian people will be listed and requires a completed application and photo copy of applicant's Tribal ID, CDIB Card, MCT Descendant ID or proof of direct lineage through parental enrollment with this application or Tribal Artisan Certification Documentation.
MNIBA believes we can no longer afford to be invisible, and our visibility on a statewide level is critical as it impacts disparity studies done by city, county, state and federal agencies regarding the condition of American Indian business - which influences decisions regarding appropriation and expansion of new funding/revenue streams and business services in Minnesota. It also influences new reports/studies that are generated by through the US Department of Commerce and the Minority Business Development. American Indian business and entrepreneurial activity impacts buying power and contributes to the economic vitality of Minnesota in ways that must be recognized.
Becoming visible enables political entrepreneurism to flourish and results in an organized voice and representation that influences domestic-and-foreign related policy, levels the playing field and access to corporate and government contracting, subsidies and capital while elevating public awareness and recognition.
