WE INVITE YOU TO BECOME A PARTNER OF THE MINNESOTA INDIAN BUSINESS ALLIANCE (MNIBA)

MNIBA is an all-volunteer, statewide organizational collaborative representing a broad organizational cross sector of tribal leaders, tribal economic and small business development experts, tribal attorneys/judiciary, tribal artisans, American Indian business owners, legal advisors, financial institutions, economic/community development organizations, non-profits, foundations, tribal colleges/institutions of higher education, corporations, county, state and federal agencies.

  MNIBA focuses on four strategic building blocks, utilizing a strategic approach to sustainability for business development in Indian Country which includes:
  • Resource Issues as it relates to Consumer Credit Counseling, business mentoring, financial literacy training, entrepreneurship training, business development workshops, professional development training, technical assistance, marketing and promotion.
  • Finance Issues as it relates to getting information out on loan guarantee programs, gap financing, equity fund development, how to help a business establish a commercial banking relationship, working with lenders and doing lender training on how to do business in Indian Country, and actively engaging lenders as partners.
  • Infrastructure Issues as it relates to Commercial and Business Law development, Zoning and zoning regulations for business, Human Capital Development, and Physical Infrastructure, i.e. sound road systems, utilities and telecommunications.
  • Governance Issues as it relates to Constitutional Reform, Independent Tribal Judiciary, Codes of Ethics, and Depoliticizing the business environment.
