Our Operations

Working together, we can create a more robust network that promotes economic sovereignty and cultural empowerment.

MNIBA operates with a deeply relational, community-first approach. Our team is composed of Indigenous professionals, advocates, and allies who are committed to long-term partnerships with Tribal Nations and Indigenous-led businesses across Minnesota.

How We Work

  • Collaborative Leadership: We co-create strategies with our community partners—respecting Indigenous knowledge, governance, and priorities.

  • Place-Based Strategy: We tailor our programs to meet the unique needs of each Tribal Nation and Indigenous community we serve.

  • Network-Driven Impact: We foster strong partnerships among Native-led businesses, Tribal governments, nonprofits, and funders to create shared pathways toward prosperity.

We are not a top-down organization. We guide our work through relationships, ground it in community voices, and concentrate on achieving scalable and sustainable impact through trust-based collaboration.

Long-Term Outcomes We Strive For

  • Indigenous wealth-building across generations

  • Reclaiming and exercising economic self-determination

  • Increased Tribal governance over land, resources, and economies

  • Equitable representation of Native businesses in local, regional, and national markets

  • Stronger, more resilient Indigenous communities

True impact means transformation, not extraction. MNIBA is here to walk alongside Indigenous communities as they reclaim their economies and reimagine prosperity—on their own terms.
